Other Projects

The Camowen area spans 100 square miles and is located centrally in Mid Ulster, which falls into the Omagh District Council area. It is defined by the catchment of the Camowen River. The Partnership comprises eight cross community-based organisations, each representing a large proportion of the Camowen area population, which stands at around 8500 people.

The integrated Regeneration and Development Plan, which is promoted by Camowen Partnership provides a unique opportunity for the group in the area to become directly involved in determining the further development of the area, and will help to increase substantially the pace of regeneration.

The Plan is based on the principles of complementary and realism and as such seeks to complement existing initiatives and projects in the area providing a realistic framework for regeneration. It focuses on ways of enabling the local population to continue to live in the area, through the development and implementation of a range of projects, which seek to reduce isolation, unemployment, poverty and the outward flow of young people.
